William Gene Goodwin of Sahuarita passed away Sunday evening, December 11, 2022, at Northwest Medical Center Houghton. He is survived by
Elisabeth, his wife of 25 years.

Bill is not only leaving his wife behind but also a mother-in-law, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, three nieces, one nephew, several cousins,
other relatives, and many friends.

He was called many things. Some people called him Bill. Others called him Gene, Billy, William, or Trapper. During the last days of his life, which he
spent in the ICU, he wanted to be called Bill.

Bill grew up on East Julia Street in Tucson. He went to Rincon High School and continued to Pima Community College. He stayed on East Julia for many years until he and Elisabeth, in 2005, moved to the Sahuarita–Green Valley area.

From his parents Bill took over a successful bird raising business, which he kept going for many years. The interest in hunting also started very early for Bill and he ended up making a living as a hunter and a trapper. Cars and racing were also important interests throughout his whole life. He once was the proud owner of a Barracuda, which he unfortunately totaled in a race at the Tucson Dragway.

Bill's friends talk about him as being down to earth, very knowledgeable, and always ready to give good advice and a helping hand.
Bill was all about hunting, fishing, trapping, and the outdoors. However, he also enjoyed going to the casino, where he mostly did well.
He will be lovingly remembered.
