William "Bill" Carley passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Bill was 1 of 6 children, born to William and Kathryn Carley (Pavich). He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 11, 1948.
Bill lived most of his life in the Chicago western suburbs and graduated from Elmhurst High School, and attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Bill loved baseball and played during his high school years.
Bill married his wife Diane (Walker) on February 3, 1973, in La Grange, Illinois. Bill and Diane lived in the Illinois suburbs of Des Plains, Batavia, and St. Charles, Illinois. Bill has his own company called Custom Machining in Chicago and they officially retired in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
Bill and Diane moved to Green Valley, Arizona full-time in 2017.
Bill enjoyed playing golf, was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and was a Master Gardener in both Wisconsin and Arizona and was in charge of seminars at Green Valley Garden Club and worked at Arid Gardens.
Bill is pre-deceased by his parents, William and Kathryn, his sister, Karen Reeder, and his brothers, Larry Carley, Terry Carley, and his grandson, Sebastian Gusman.
He is survived by his wife of 52 wonderful and glorious years, Diane Carley, his brothers, Denis Carely, and Norman Carley. His son, Michael Stoneham (Jessica), his daughter, Rebecca (Alex), his grandchildren, Samantha Stoneham, Matthew Gusman, Nick Felix, Emma Felix, special nieces, Allison Carley, Lindsay Gebhardt, Whitney Smith, special nephew, Scott Davis, and many extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to TMC Hospital, ICU and TMC Peppi's House Hospice Care for the wonderful care they gave to Bill during his final days.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Green Valley Mortuary, 18751 S. La Canada Drive, Sahuarita.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in honor of Bill to Arid Gardens c/o Green Valley Garden Club at P.O. Box 86, Green Valley, Arizona 85622 or to the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin in honor of his grandson, Sebastian Gusman at www.uwhealth.org
