Theodore William (Bill) Nienaber was born July 21, 1926 in Evanston, Illinois, to Ada Beatrice Wingfield Coussens and Theodore George Nienaber. He peacefully passed away August 15, 2015. He leaves behind his children; Michael William 59, Douglas Kurt 59, Jeffrey James 57, and Carol Helen 56; his grandchildren David 32, Theresa 25, Christopher 22, Carly Helene 21, and Ryan 15; and great grandson Logan 1. Bill was hard working and a kind, loving father. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be best remembered for his stories and sense of humor. Struggling with poor eyesight since birth, Bill was in the first ever sight-saving class in Evanston, IL. During the Depression his family moved to Florida and helped to run a chicken farm. Bill continued to work on farms as he grew up and learned to love farming. As a young man Bill traveled across the United States in a model A Ford with his cousin where he fought fires for a time in California. He finally landed back in Evanston, IL. Bill was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Helene Kerr McFadden, on May 10, 2005. Because their parents had been good friends, Bill and Helene grew up together. Once he was back in Evanston, he rediscovered Helene while out running errands for his parents and asked her out. On their third date he asked her to marry him, to which she replied, "What took you so long?" They married on October 2nd, 1954. In November, 1955, twins Michael and Douglas were born. The family moved to their first farm in Harvard, Illinois. Their next child, Jeffrey, was born in October, 1957, and then in April, 1959, their family was complete with Carol. They moved to Woodstock when Carol was born and she was first brought to St. Ann's Episcopal Church in a basket. The Nienaber family was very active at St Ann's for over 40 years, running the Altar Guild, participating in the building and finance committees, donating parts of the organ, and spearheading the columbarium. Bill later expanded his work from farming to selling farms and consulting across four states. Bill and Helene left Woodstock in 2001 and moved to Green Valley, Arizona. Bill loved Arizona, reminiscent of all the old Westerns he loved. After Helene's death, Bill moved back to Illinois where he lived near his daughter in Geneva. After Carol's retirement, he moved back to Green Valley.
