It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sandra Lu Roop, 74, formally of Fort Wayne, IN. She unexpectedly passed away in her sleep, very peacefully on September 28, 2018. As we struggle with the suddenness of her death, we are comforted that it was so peaceful.

Sandra was born on January 10, 1944, the eldest daughter of Earl Amos and Phyllis Maxine (Lochner) Roop. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis; sisters Linda Thalacker (Jim), Rebecca Udell (Mike) and her children, Michael Murphy (Barbara) and Kara Pelletier (Pete). Sandra has several grandchildren whom she loved to watch grow and try to keep up with their changing lives; Sean Murphy, Christopher Murphy (Julia), Johnny Murphy, Nicholas Pelletier, Kate Pelletier. She has two very special great grandchildren from Christopher and Julia; Rylee and Colton. She was also blessed with 5 nieces; Serina, Katie, Anna, Heidi and Jamie and one nephew, Vincent

Sandra loved to spend time with her family. She would rotate visits between her son and daughter on Sundays and would become unruly if either had to change plans on her. She became wheelchair bound due to a leg amputation in her last 5 years of life but as always, never complained and figured out ways to stay mobile so she could continue to visit her family.

In lieu of flowers, her daughter Kara has asked for live cactus/succulents as her mother was helping create a cactus garden at their home in Cave Creek and Kara wishes to continue that in her honor. Sandra loved gardening and being outside. A special, special heartfelt thank you from our family to Las Fuentes Assisted Living for their care of Sandra over the years, especially Adira.
