Ruth Ethelyn Arnold (nee Matthews), 83, of Green Valley, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 after an extended illness.

The memorial service will be held at Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley on Friday, January 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.

Ruth was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on July 15, 1932 . She graduated from Beaver Dam High School and continued on to receive training and nursing certification at Chicago's Columbus Hospital.

Ruth was married to Gene Edwin Arnold on August 28, 1954 . They were married 61 years.

Ruth worked as a registered nurse for the Oak Park/River Forest School System for more than 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bridge, and was actively involved in her church and the Red Hat Society.

Ruth is lovingly remembered by her husband Gene, her two sons Scott (Rocio) Arnold of Carbondale, IL, and Ross (Beverly) Arnold of Phoenix, AZ; and daughters Lisa Zimmer of Palatine, IL, and Laura (Jeff) Donofrio of Cincinnati, OH; and also 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
