Obituary

Ronald W. Greene 1933-2021 age 88. Passed peacefully December 26 th in Green Valley, AZ. He is loved and will be missed by his children Anne, Ken, and Martin; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was raised on an Indiana farm by his beloved Mother Betty J. and Father James A. Greene. Betty known to the grandkids as Mimi was the influential Christian matriarch of the family.  James known as Grampy to the kids also possessed a strong Christian faith, he worked as a commercial and professional artist.

In his late teens Ron adventured west driving combines in the wheatfields of Kansas. At 19 he began his military career, serving in the US Navy at San Diego Naval Air Station, achieving the rank of Petty Officer. Additionally serving in the US Coast Guard above the Arctic Circle at Jan Mayen Island long range radar installation, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He earned a BS in Business Administration. Retired from the Federal Aviation Agency where he was a radar, electronics, and computer crew chief.

In retirement he worked his 130-acre Tennessee farm. He traveled to many countries around the world including most of Europe and many Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq.  At age 58 he participated in Desert Storm accompanying the first wave of US ground forces into Iraq helping to establish communications.

His lifelong hobbies include woodworking, reading, and construction, building several of his own homes. A remembrance and celebration service of his life will be held in the spring of 2022
