Rochelle Smith Sergeant passed away with her kids at her side December 26, 2025 after a brief aggressive cancer diagnosis. Born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin, she lived with her husband Ray (deceased 1977) and 2 children Jay and Joy in Wausau & Eau Claire Wi, settling in Rochester, MN for years. She lived in the Twin Cities, Chicago, Houston TX and then settled in Green Valley Az with her 2nd spouse Dale (deceased 1998). She was a strong single woman the rest of her life. She loved her cats, enjoyed needlework, cooking, gardening & being a proud Democrat, plus loved driving her friends around when they couldn't drive. Her friends will remember her for her vast SW jewelry collection that she enjoyed wearing, and for never failing to share her cooking, or an opinion. Her angel in her last months was her new friend Ella and her baby Luke — Thank you Ella, as well as her thanks & love to Judy, Sue and other wonderful friends.

Rochelle is survived by her Brother Neil (Buddy) Smith, (spouse Kay). Son, Jay Kaufmann (spouse Pamela). Daughter, Joy Sheets (spouse Craig) 3 Grand-cats, nieces and nephews Tara Smith, Sara Guza, Lauren Moore, Jordan Smith. Beside her parents  and two spouses, she was proceeded in death by her youngest brother Kent in October. She'll be forever remembered and missed by those that knew her … and now she rests. She requested no services, but would appreciate a donation to the Animal League of Green Valley AZ or Paws Patrol, Green Valley AZ to honor her.
