Robert Allen Verdugo, affectionately known as "Bobby," was called home on November 7, 2024, at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on December 21, 1946, in Douglas, Arizona, Bobby was the cherished son of David and Blanca Verdugo. He grew up alongside his three brothers and one sister in a close-knit family.

At the age of 20, Bobby proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, serving with distinction as a Vietnam Veteran. His bravery and dedication were recognized with a Purple Heart and numerous other service medals, reflecting his unwavering commitment to his country.

On May 21, 1971, Bobby married the love of his life, Rosa Ophelia Romero. Together, they moved to Globe/Miami, Arizona, where they raised their four children. Bobby dedicated 47 years to working in the copper mines, retiring in March 2015. Following his retirement, he and Rosa settled in Vail, Arizona, where Bobby enjoyed a fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends. He took great pleasure in attending car shows with his father's 1959 Chevy truck, tending to his yard, and caring for his beloved birds.

Bobby is deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Rosa, his daughters Sonia (Jay), Lisa, Denise (Valentin), and his son Robert Anthony. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as his brother Edmundo Verdugo and sister Mary Ellen Moreno. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Blanca Verdugo, his brothers David and Arturo Verdugo, and his great-granddaughter Nevaeh Alise Garcia.

Bobby's legacy of love, service, and dedication will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
