Obituary

Richard Alan Dawes, 74, of Green Valley, Arizona, passed away at home on January 30, 2024, due to stroke complications. Born in Portland, Oregon, on June 1, 1949, to Richard and Meg Dawes, he was a respected Oregon State University alumnus. Richard's career spanned over 30 years in engineering, culminating in his role as CEO of Enoch Manufacturing in Clackamas, Oregon. Under his leadership, the company excelled in precision machining, earning him recognition as the "2001 Oregon SBA Small Business Person of the Year" runner-up.

Even after his retirement in 2008, Richard continued to make a mark as Enoch's Chairman of the Board until 2014. His commitment to community service was evident through his work with the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Development Center, and various other local and state economic development organizations. Nationally, he contributed to the Precision Machined Products Association.

Richard is survived by his wife Barbara of 44 years, his two sons Shad and Shawn (w/ partner Alysha), and granddaughter Ashlee. His legacy of professional excellence and community dedication remains an inspiration. Richard's life embodied hard work, perseverance, and the profound influence of commitment to industry and community. He will be dearly missed.
