Michelle  Angelie Montcalm

Our Precious Little Angel was born on February 28, 1963 at St. Joseph's here in Tucson to Judi, Rene and sister Monique.  Michelle only weighed 4 lbs, which was a challenge 63 years ago but we knew God gave her to us for a reason.  She was such a little fighter but we met each obstacle ahead of us.  On her 1st birthday we surrounded her with presents enabling her to sit up.  After taking birthday picture, all you could see were the gifts, not our Little Angel. By the time Michelle was 3 she didn't walk, she ran. When she was 4 she started talking in paragraphs.  She developed the most incredible vocabulary that astonished EVERYONE she met.

She Loved to Learn. We enrolled her into a private kindergarten for learning and socializing, then on to public education.  There was no Special Education in those days so we had to work with the School District for several years because the law required children to be enrolled in school by 8 yrs old.  Michelle was incredibly smart and did not fit into any mold. While she was still in school we decided it would be interesting and fun for her to learn and live in the REAL WORLD.  Oh, by the way Michelle was a proud graduate of Sahuaro High School. In 1981.   She became active in Special Olympics as a participant but after 2 yrs she became a volunteer.  She thought it was a better fit.  She also became a Candy Striper at St Joseph's Hospital at 15 yrs and 7 months for 4 yrs then continued as an Auxiliary Volunteer for 9 yrs. Her volunteering included:  the  Education Enrichment Foundation, We the People of Arizona, Victims Rights, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Honorary member of the Tucson Classic Michael Landon Tennis Tournament, Dog Rescue Adoption program at Petco, Catalina Jr Woman's Club, Honorary member of the Pima County Republican Club and numerous political campaigns including Patti Noland and Grant Woods.

Michelle's PRECIOUS LIFE was filled with so many ups and downs which she endured ALWAYS with a smile on her BEAUTIFUL face.  Michelle loved people and anyone who met her fell in love immediately.  She knew everybody and everybody knew her.  It didn't make any difference where she traveled she would run into someone who knew her.  Be it a mall in Hawaii, a tram stop in Grand Canyon or a diner off the Will Rogers Turn Pike in OK.  She loved traveling, especially to Phoenix where she spent so many wonderful times with her cousin Kelly and family. For over 50 yrs, she loved the many family trips to Uncle Joe's on Lake Champlain, VT, making memories that were unforgettable.  Oh how she loved the Montcalm family.

Her life was full of fun, laughter and friends.  She loved pool parties, celebrating every holiday, wedding and baby showers, birthday parties and especially her first slumber party (ages 15 to 40, mostly 30 – 40).

In 1999 she was finally diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder.  We didn't need an answer, we had one. She was beautiful, incredible, oh so smart, funny, kind, and loving.

She is preceded in death by her Father, Rene Montcalm, Uncle Jim Malone, Aunt Jane E, Uncle Tom and Kevin Kereny and also numerous family members in VT.  She is survived by her mother and sister, Theresa and Tim Kereny, John and Cindy Malone, and the beautiful Montcalm family in VT.   Special friends include Shirley, George and Kris Grundberg, Kelly & Mike Halterman, and Christy and Phil Rado.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM.   A Mass will be said at Our Mothers of Sorrows Catholic Church at 1800 S Kolb Rd.     Burial will be at East Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery at 5801 E Grant Rd. following the mass.  Reception will follow at Our Mother of Sorrow in the Activity Room.
