Michael (Mike) Larry Durazo, formerly of Sahuarita, died unexpectedly at his home in Chesapeak, VA on December 28, 2023.

Mike was born in Tucson, AZ on August 18, 1982, to Joyce Michelle Jarvis and Enrique Durazo. He was joined by a sister Michelle in 1987. Mike grew up and lived most of his life in Tucson. He attended Tucson schools and graduated from Flowing Wells High School with the Class of 2000.  In 2014, Mike joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served at a variety of duty stations. He fulfilled his dream of traveling the world; serving onboard the USS Carl Vinson, USS Theodore Roosevelt, USS Gerald Ford, and extended shore duty in Naples, Italy and Norfolk, VA. At the time of his death, he had attained the rank of (E6) YN1.

Mike is survived by his parents, sister, brother-in-law Julio Armenta, nieces Isabela Durazo and Evynne Armenta.  Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers and very special friend Julia Shkunda,

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Larry and Joyce Jarvis; his paternal grandparents Alejandro and Virginia Durazo, and Uncle Alvaro "Acho" Durazo.

Mike was so witty and quick with a joke. The life of any party. He leaves us with such sorrow, yet so many good memories.  He will be laid to rest, with Military Rites, on January 25, 2024, next to his maternal grandparents at the Green Valley Cemetery in Green Valley, AZ
