BLAKE, Michael Dennis

of Vail, AZ died on September 27, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Pat; his daughters, Melanie (Ben) and Carolyn; his son, Brian; his stepdaughters, Theresa (Mike) and Jeni (Paul); his grandsons, Luke and Jake; his brother, John (Carolyn) and sister, Linda (Jeff). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, his father, John Patrick, and his first wife, Rebecca.

Mike was born in Philadelphia on December 4, 1948. He graduated from Haverford High School and attended Temple University before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1970 and serving 6 years as both a ground radar and admin specialist. He spent 30 years as a commercial loan officer and vice president with GMAC, followed by roles in retail and most recently residential real estate.

Mike will be missed by many. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He will be especially remembered for his kind heart and humor. From his teenage years when he would sneak out to concerts at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Mike had a love of rock music. He was an avid golfer, playing even through the Philadelphia winters, and was also skilled at pool and bowling. After moving to Arizona with Pat he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the American landscape, especially the Southwest and its national parks.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 4 at the Green Valley Mortuary, 18751 South La Cañada Drive, Sahuarita, AZ.
