Mary Jane Cohen and her husband Joel William Cohen were tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on August 11, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona. She was 77 years old.

Mary Jane was born in Oak Park, Illinois  in 1939 and attended Komarek School and Proviso Hight School. She attended Mount Mary College, University of Iowa, and Portland State University. She lived for many years in Portland, Oregon, raising 4 children and welcoming 9 grandchildren. She was a Special Education teacher with a heart for middle and high school students. In 2012 Mary Jane and Joel moved to Green Valley, Arizona..

Mary Jane treasured time with her family and friends.   She and Joel had a special love of the symphony, enjoyed many activities outdoors, was active in her community, church, book club, yoga and fitness classes.

Mary Jane is survived by her brother James Patak of Westchester, IL, her son James Greve, daughters Kathryn Clunes, Sharon Greve, and Susie Whipps, and their families. She is also survived by Joel's Son, his wife, and 2 granddaughters. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.
