Mark Shawn Reilly passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
Mark was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on June 11, 1941, son of Paul and Ruth Reilly. He is survived by wife Diane Reilly, daughter Ashley Reilly and brother-in-law Michael Zapatka of Arizona, brother Michael Reilly and sister in-law Barbara Reilly of Florida, nephew Daniel Reilly of Connecticut, daughter Renee Reilly-Roncone and son Paul Reilly of Florida, step sons Todd Orowson of Georgia and Jack Cedio of Texas, including his late nephew Michael Reilly, late son Shawn Iovine, late father-in-law Jerry Zapatka, and late mother-in-law Joan Colella-Zapatka. He had many grandchildren as well.
Mark was a proud patriot and served in the United States Navy. After his time in the military, he received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Buffalo, New York. He went on to have a successful career in Aerospace and worked many years as a Quality Engineer and ultimately Director of Product Safety in the toy industry (Milton Bradley and Hasbro). He traveled internationally throughout his professional years, experiencing much of the world. He was an avid gun collector, fond of target shooting with his brother Mike in his younger years and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He loved his Mazda Mx5 and taking many road-trips and exploring the Southwest desert with his best friend/ late father-in-law Jerry Zapatka and daughter Ashley. He also enjoyed gardening, writing short stories and stargazing with his telescopes. In his retirement and final years, he mostly enjoyed relaxing at home with his family, surrounded by the peaceful mountains of Arizona.
Mark will be missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
