Marilyn Darcangelo passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024 at her home in Quail Creek.  Born July 25, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Milton and Ann Panoch.   Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandma "Gaga, registered nurse, and a great friend to many.  She fought valiantly against cancer not once, but twice in the last eight years, demonstrating unwavering strength and resilience in her journey.  She leaves a legacy of love, courage, strength and compassion.

Marilyn was born in Chicago and raised in the suburbs just outside Chicago.  She graduated from Little Company of Mary Nursing School in Evergreen Park, and was so proud to be a registered nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital for over 25 years.

Marilyn moved to Tucson in 1981 and worked for Tucson General Hospital and then moved into administration for Pima Care and Cigna.  Marilyn met her husband Bob through a mutual co-worker.  They married on December 23, 1989. In 2002 they moved from Tucson to Quail Creek where they started retirement. During her retirement years, she volunteered at the Tucson Heart Hospital and the Tucson Visitor Center where she enjoyed sharing her love of Tucson with all of the visitors.

Marilyn was active in Critters Club, Putter's Club, and the Nursing Club in Quail Creek.  She also enjoyed pot luck dinners and meals out and local restaurants with the neighbors.  She was an avid Mahjong and Canasta player with her friends.  Marilyn also enjoyed reading, crocheting, making greeting cards, and she made jewelry which she gave as gifts and sold in a gallery in Tubac.  She was a huge animal lover and had dogs most of her life including Queenie, Lassie, Heidi, Lucky Buster, Einstein, Chico, and Athena.

Marilyn and Bob both enjoyed traveling periodically; whether visiting their kids in Chicago and Texas, relatives in Corning, New York or trips to Hawaii and Italy.  She also enjoyed going on annual 'girls trips' with her friends where they would drive through the southwest and always return with a funny story or two.

She is survived by her husband Bob Darcangelo as well her daughter, Laura Jones and her grandson, Logan Jones of Chicago, her step-daughter, Hollee Ganner (Dwayne) of Houston TX, step-sons John Darcangelo (Sonja) and Steve Darcangelo (Joanne) as well as grandchildren; Brittany, Cora, and Christian.
