Obituary

Marge Perry passed away in Green Valley, AZ Sunday, February 11, 2024, while convalescing from surgery while under hospice care. She passed peacefully with her son and daughter-in-law at her side.

Born March 5, 1931, in Edmonton, Alberta to Wilfred and "Jean" McMullen, Margaret was the oldest of six children. She married Donald Frederick Perry in Edmonton on February 14, 1948, and had three children, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Her husband of 71 years, Don, passed away on April  15, 2019. He was a long-time professional hockey player, coach, general manager, and scout most notably with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

While her early years were devoted to raising her three children and supporting her hockey playing/coach husband in the New Haven (CT) area, she blossomed as a public relations liaison for the Saginaw (MI) Gears while her husband was the GM/Coach for the team in the 1970s.

The couple spent many years at their summer (and later, year-round) Adirondack mountain  cottage in Hague-on-Lake-George, NY. Her favorite memories - aside from family and friends  gathering lakeside - were of watching the deer grazing and romping in the fields of wildflowers  near her cottage. She took up golfing with her husband, which - though the recommendation  of golfing friends - led the couple to discover Green Valley, AZ.

Seasonally at first, but later as a full-time resident, she became immersed in the Green Valley  lifestyle and community, playing golf with friends, volunteering in support of local activities  such as the Senior Olympics, and caring for elderly neighbors, all while nurturing a flair for  painting landscapes, decorating, gardening, and hosting marvelous social gatherings with  friends.

Marge lived a very full and, in her words, "amazing" life. She will forever be remembered as a  loving wife, mother, and positive, good-hearted soul to all who encountered her.

She is survived by her siblings, Robert McMullen and Colleen Davyduke McMullen of  Edmonton, and Albert McMullen of Berrien Springs, MI as well as her sons, Raymond Eugene  Perry (Nanaimo, BC) and Cameron Michael Perry (Green Valley). She was pre-deceased by her  middle son, Tyler Ross Perry of Nanaimo, in 2013. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren  reside on Vancouver Island, Canada.
