Lawrence "Bud" Gaida (79) passed away Feb 7, 2018 at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ with family at his bedside.
Bud was born and raised in Duluth, MN. He attended Cathedral High School. Bud went into the family business working for his father at Gaida's Standard on London Road. Years later he bought his own station, Edgewater Standard, in Duluth.
Bud and Steph met in 1970 and after four months they were married. They worked together for most of their married life. They were married for 47 fun and eventful years.
In 1983 Bud sold Edgewater and he and family moved to Palm Bay, FL. Bud then purchased University Mobil in Melbourne, FL. Where he owned and operated the station until 1996 when he sold it to Mobil Oil. They then spent the next 14 years enjoying Florida, as well as travelling in the U.S. and Europe with friends and family.
In 2010 they both retired and moved to Green Valley, AZ where they have enjoyed making new friends, being near some of Bud's family members, and active in the Minnesota Club.
Bud was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers James and Tom Gaida, sister Judy Reiff. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Stephanie, and daughters Kim Gaida (Byron) NJ, Teri Law (James) MN, Alison Kane (Bocar) MN, 9 grandchildren, siblings Marge Contardo AZ, Dick Gaida AR, George Gaida WI, Mary Harris AZ.
