Oshkosh – Larry Gauger 75, died Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Tucson Medical Center in Tucson following a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Debra/Debbie (Kroll) Gauger; his sons, Tracy Gauger and his wife, Moniste Gauger; Larry Gauger Sr and his fiance Chris Cundy; his daughter, Tammy Gauger; 9 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; his sister, Bonnie Young; his brother, Alan Gauger; and many close friends.
Born and raised in Oshkosh, the son of Arthur and Leona Gauger. Preceded in death by his Father, Arthur Gauger; his Mother, Leona Abraham Gauger; his Mother-in-law, Mae R Kroll; his Father-in-laws,Walter H Kroll Sr. and Paul C Myers.
He lived most of his life in Oshkosh with his later years in Twin Falls, Idaho and Green Valley, Arizona. In his early years, Larry worked at Paine Lumber Company and Universal Foundry in Oshkosh, and Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. He had his own caretaker/landscaping business for several years. Larry received his GED and worked for 17 years with the City of Oshkosh Transportation department driving city bus until retirement in 2006. He married Debra/Debbie Kroll, on June 19, 1970 in Oshkosh, WI.
Larry always had a passion for hunting and fishing. He spent many days in the spring and summer fishing Walleye and pan fish on Lake Winnebago and Lake Butte de Morts. He spent many fall days hunting in Berlin, Red Granite, and Pittsville. He was involved with coaching his sons' softball teams as well as being a Den Leader for their Cub Scouts and Webelos troops. In his later years he spent time putting puzzles together, always looking for a more difficult one then the last.
His life was a blessing. His memory a Treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
There will be a Celebration of Life meal on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 1020 W Camino Sagasta, Green Valley, Arizona 85622 from 12-3.
