Kenneth was born in a farm home in O'Brien County, Iowa on December 12, 1923. He passed away November 18, 2015 at his home in Green Valley, AZ. Kenneth attended schools in Paullina, Iowa graduating from High School in 1942. He enlisted in the United States Army with service in England and the European continent. As a member of Battery B 110th AAA Gun Battalion he was involved in the D-Day invasion in 1944.   Following military service, he attended and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1948.

He managed medical group practices, first at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, then administrator of the Lincoln Clinic in Lincoln, Nebraska, and finally at the Yankton Medical Clinic in Yankton, South Dakota.   In 1949, he married Gladys Miskimins of Riceville, Iowa.   Upon Ken's retirement, they returned to Iowa City, where Gladys died in 1993. Together they raised three daughters, Rebecca Lange of San Mateo, CA, Margaret Lange of St. Louis, MO, and Nancy Lange (Robert Gordon) of Minnetonka, MN. Ken has 4 grandchildren, Anne (Morrison) Shaneen, James Morrison, Ellen Gordon, and Abigail Gordon.

In 1997, Kenneth and Joyce Lenz were united in a commitment ceremony vowing a lifetime of love and devotion to each other. They moved to Green Valley, AZ in 2003.   Kenneth held various offices and board member positions in Lutheran churches, Chambers of Commerce, a retirement facility in Lincoln, golf clubs, and Medical Group Management Association.

He is survived by his beloved partner, Joyce Lenz, his three daughters and four grandchildren, and one sister, Marian Buthmann of Esterville, IA.   His remains will be buried next to his mother at St. Johns cemetery in Germantown, Iowa next spring. His wife Gladys, father, mother, brother and a sister preceded him in death. There will be memorial service for Kenneth at Desert Hills Lutheran Church in Green Valley on December 5th at 11:00 am.
