Jeffrey Alan
Ashin
Aug 12, 1953 — Oct 21, 2021
Jeff Ashin was born in Culver City, CA to Herman and Ruth Ashin. He was their only child.
Jeff had a very successful career in healthcare but he was an even greater success as an amazing husband to his wife, Becky and a wonderful loving father to his children, Heather, Robin and Collin.
He began as a scrub tech while going to college at Cal State Northridge where he also obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration. He moved up through administration to become a hospital CEO at several California hospitals. In 1991, he transferred to Mesa General Hospital in AZ. It was here that he met and fell in love with his beloved, Becky. Their love surpassed all odds and with their son, Collin, they became a family in 2002.
Jeff's career took him to Worcester, MA, Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Cincinnati, OH and Knoxville, TN, where he became regional CEO for Mercy Health Partners. He loved his work and contributed so much to healthcare.
Upon retirement from healthcare, Jeff became the CEO of the Young Williams Animal Center in Knoxville to establish it as a new foundation. He so loved animals and was adopted by a rescue he named Boomer.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Becky, children, Heather Lubin (Justin and grandchildren Dylan and Harrison), Robin Ashin (Teresa) and Collin Ashin (Brittany), in-laws Annabelle Winfrey (mom), Hank & Dianne Lock and sister-in-law Loraine Stefanides (Vic). He will be forever missed by so many friends, co-workers and family, and especially by his dogs, Boomer and Jake.
Remembrances may be given to The Animal League of Green Valley, 1600 W. Duval Mine Rd., Green Valley, AZ 85614.
