Janet S. Hill, 79, of Green Valley, Arizona passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, due to complications from Alzheimer's.  Her husband and her two children were by her side.

Janet was a retired finance director from a midwest municipality.  She was an avid outdoor enthusiast. She enjoyed hiking, biking, sailing/boating, skiing and gardening.  Her passions, however, were her church and her music. She enjoyed playing various instruments and singing.  She sang in many choirs and groups and even performed on the Ed Sullivan Show with her high school choral group.

Janet was born to Luanne Justice Stewart and Robert Pridham Stewart in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Her parents preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, James H. Hill, later in life.  She is survived by her husband, brother John Stewart, sister Jane Hartman, two children, Bev Ecker and Brett Ecker (Don), grandson, Antonio Way (12), and granddaughter, Janet Grace Way (14) who had been named in her honor, five step-children, John Hill, Jean Mulvihill, James Hill (Gabby), Donald Hill (Kelly), Trish Skrinak (Rob),  and their combined 15 children. She is also survived by a nephew, John Hartman (Kathy) their three children, and two nieces, Judy Fay (Dale) and Amy Glenn (Jeff).

Janet was full of love and had an eye for beauty.  She could easily see that beauty in people and the world around her.  The disease that took her life took many things from her, but not her ability to marvel at anything from a sunset, to the simplicity of a graceful tree, or the ability to provide a sweet smile and a cheerful greeting for everyone she met.  Janet's positive, fun, warm and loving spirit will be remembered by all.

A memorial service at the Green Valley Baptist Church, 1111 N. La Canada Drive, Green Valley, Arizona is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 1:30pm.  A funeral service at Donnellan Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL. followed by a Car Procession to All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, Illinois is scheduled for Thursday, March 28 at 10am.
