Obituary

Withrow, Jacqueline Mae "Jackie", CPA, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2019 in Green Valley, Arizona.  She was 83.  A private viewing was held January 11, 2019 at Green Valley Mortuary.  She was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa on June 14, 1935 to Vivian Alleen Morford Carter and Ira Carter.  She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1953.  Jackie married her high school sweetheart Miles E. Withrow on January 7, 1955.  She was an Air Force wife until Miles retired in 1972 which landed them in Tempe, Arizona.

Jackie earned her Associate in Arts Degree from Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona on May 12, 1983.  She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona on August 7, 1987.  She received her certificate from the American Society of Women Accountants on February 2, 1989 and her State Board of Accounting certificate from the State of Arizona on December 9, 1991.  Her career spanned nearly 15 years of dedicated service to the United States Government.  She began her career with the Department of Army in Turkey in April of 1970 and the Department of the Air Force in 1972.  She worked for Sprague Electric in Tempe, Arizona from 1972 to 1985.  She began her career with Defense Contract Audit Agency at the Scottsdale Branch Office in Arizona in January of 1988.  She then transferred to the Lockheed/Martin Resident Office in Fort Worth, Texas in November of 1993 and to the Raytheon Resident Office in Tucson, Arizona in September of 1998.  She retired from DCAA on February 23, 2001.

Jackie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lt. Colonel Miles E. Withrow, USAF Retired; sister, Kathryn Carter Hulbert (Herb); brother, Fred Carter (Nancy); son, Michael Withrow (Sue); daughters, Susan Withrow (Rick) and Sharon Withrow Tomlinson (Dan); granddaughter, Michelle Withrow; grandsons, Richard Sutherland and Ryan Withrow; five great grandchildren, Christopher (18), Joshua (12), KayLynn (9) Jaycee (8) and Brendon (6); nieces, Teresa Carter Correa (Fabian), Deb Hulbert Ainsworth (Brian); nephews, George Hulbert (Midori), Tim Carter, David Carter (Amy); and her chocolate lab "Buddy".  She was preceded in death by her niece Katie Hulbert Watson.

Jackie loved her family and was a huge inspiration to many.
