Obituary

On April 12th , 2025, Jacqueline Gizella Jorgensen, nee Schneider, entered into the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ. A devout Catholic, she graduated elementary school from Saint Stanislaus Kostka in Long Island, at which church she later married her husband of 45 years, Christian Jorgensen. She also attended St. Jean Baptiste High School and received a degree from Notre Dame College on Staten Island. Born in New York City, she lived in New York until her marriage at which time she moved to New Jersey. Their adventures took them also to Austin, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; and eventually to Sahuarita Arizona.

Though her husband was not Catholic, he faithfully took her to mass every week. We rejoice in the promise of eternal life, and in faith pray she is reunited with her husband, parents and two of her sisters, Joan and Dorothy (Dot). She is survived by two sisters, Vivian and Clare and many nieces and nephews.

To Clare, she was not only her baby sister, but she was her best friend! They talked about any and everything, and she will be dearly missed. Her niece, Charlene adds that Jackie was not only her aunt, she was her godmother. A person who was full of life, always had a happy bubbly personality, and Loved God. Jackie once told Charlene, "God created the rose in the likeliness of a woman! The rose represents beauty. The stem represents strength. The petals are soft as skin. The fragrance is pure and sweet. The leaves represent arms outstretched-always loving and always giving. Each time you look at a rose remember.... God made you special!!" Whenever I, Charlene, see a beautiful Rose, I will always remember my beautiful Aunt Jackie! Friends have called her "the epitome of a sweetheart;" "a woman of faith;" and "a cherished friend." She was loved by all and will be missed immensely, but her memory will live on in our hearts!

Her funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 am. The service will be preceded by a recitation of the rosary at 9:30 am in the same location.

In His light, may we all find comfort.
