Harry
Simon
d. Nov 20, 2022
Harry Simon passed away on Sunday morning, November 20, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson Arizona. Harry died from heart and kidney disease, that he lived with for much of his adult life. He was the son of Louis C. Simon and Gertrude L. Simon, (nee Vonk). Harry was born in 1959 in The Hague, Netherlands. He immigrated with his family in 1960 to the United States.
He attended St. Phillip the Apostle School, and La Salle High School in Pasadena, California. He graduated from Chatsworth High School after his family moved to Canoga Park, California. He received an Associate in Science Degree in Business Management from Moorpark College in Moorpark, California. Harry enjoyed a 20-year long career in the health care field. He worked as a Claims Examiner, Claims Processor, and Senior Analyst for Prudential Insurance, United Insurance, and CareAmerica Health. He also worked at Gibraltar Savings for two years as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Harry's career in the health care field ended when his health began to decline, but his interests and hobbies stayed with him. Harry enjoyed going to little antique and collectible shops. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of classic movies and music. Harry had that American love affair with cars, which may be the reason he began collecting Mattel's Hot Wheels. He saw the potential of their future value.
Harry was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Irene Peterson (nee Simon). Harry is survived by his brothers Ronald Simon, and Bernard Simon.
No funeral services are scheduled. Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery in Sahuarita, AZ will handle cremation and assist family and friends in scattering his ashes.
