On February 15, 2021, our family lost our beloved father, George Christian Gutheim, age 81 in Green Valley, Arizona. George had a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born August 5, 1939 in New York, NY.  He was predeceased by his wife, Kay Steel Gutheim of Green Valley, AZ and his parents Robert Gutheim and Bernice Howard Gutheim of Bethesda, MD.

George is survived by his former wife, Dianne Gross with whom he shares their 3 children: William (Pamela) Gutheim, Carolyn (John) Lockhart and Kathryn (Mike) Cain and his 6 grandchildren: Heather (Dean) Rose, James Lockhart, Morgan Spinks, Matthew Spinks, Caleb and Tevne. George grew up in Bethesda, MD.  He graduated from Chevy Chase High School in 1957 and Harvard University in 1962.  He also lived in Seal Beach, CA and Green Valley, AZ.  He worked for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics labs, Magnavox, CAST (Computer Applications of Software Technology) which he was a co-owner and Raytheon Corporation.

George enjoyed playing golf and traveling the world.  He belonged to the Country Club of Green Valley where he frequently played golf with his friends.  His travels took him to wonderful places like Australia, China, Russia, South America, Europe and all around the United States.  He especially liked to take cruises and took a memorable trip with children and grandchildren to Alaska.  George will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

There will not be a public funeral or memorial service for George.  Memorials on his behalf can be made to American Cancer Society.
