Gene Paul Gates (85), passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020 in Green Valley, AZ.  He was born 12 OCT 1935 in Two Rivers, WI, the only son of Peter and Lucy (Finnel) Gates.

Following his graduation from Two Rivers High School, Gene enlisted in the US Army.  After an honorable discharge from the Army, Gene completed his BS at St Norbert College in De Pere WI.

Gene held several positions before he and his family returned to live and work in Two Rivers. Gene was the owner manager of several businesses, The Penguin Drive Inn restaurant in Manitowoc, Gators Tavern in Two Rivers and Gates Insurance of Two Rivers.

Gene is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Lou Delores (Toltzman) Gates, his five children, Michelle, Chris, Mark, Tim and Nicole.  Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Gene hand many passions, Kiwanis Club and the annual Kiwanis fishing derby, the restoration of Rogers Street Historic Village and of course, the Green Bay Packers.

A memorial service to celebrate Gene's life will be scheduled for the summer of 2021 in Two Rivers Wisconsin. He will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread at several locations.
