Gary L. Ray was born in Glendale, CA March 3, 1945. He grew up in Burbank with parents, Fred and Della Ray, and sister, Marilyn Baton(Roger). He started working for Howard Hughes before graduating from Cal State Northridge designing media equipment for Mr. Hughes. He later transferred to Las Vegas and designed security equipment for him and senior executives.

After Mr. Hughes died, the gaming properties were sold to focus on Mr. Hughes' extensive real estate holdings. Gary ended his career as Vice President of Property Management when he retired to Green Valley, AZ. with his wife, Beth.

In Green Valley he began a second career recording and mastering choral music for Valley Presbyterian Church, the University of Arizona and others.

Gary loved road cycling and running with his Golden Retriever, Banjo. Gary and Banjo lived almost 2 years at The Villas at Green Valley where they both received loving care. He died of Alzheimer's Disease December 28, 2023 and is survived by his wife, Beth, sister, Marilyn and son, Jason Ray(Erika).

He was predeceased by his parents and son, Trevor.
