Obituary

Fred Lewis Lineberry, age 84, passed away peacefully in Green Valley, Arizona on February 5, 2020, after suffering with Alzheimer's. Fred was born on December 19, 1935 in Brookfield, Missouri, the son of Elwood and Letha Lineberry. He married Marilyn Gatterman on August 16, 1958.

Fred lived on a farm near Mendon, Missouri and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri where he met his loving wife, Marilyn, of 61 years. Shortly after their marriage, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, the Sabbar Shrine, and the Scottish Rite. Fred spent his successful career as a banker, and many of his customers called him "Mr. Fred". In 1993, after retiring from Farmers Savings Bank & Trust in Traer, IA they moved to Bella Vista, AR, where he worked for Arvest Bank in Bentonville. They moved to Green Valley in 2004, and lived the past five years at La Posada, a retirement community. One of his pastimes was hunting and skeet shooting, and he was an active member of the Tucson Gun Club. He loved to travel, play bridge and entertain with friends.

Fred is survived by his wife and two sons; Scott (Merrijo) of Clive, IA and Grant (Susan) of Naples, FL, and three grandsons; Kristopher (Sarah) of Denver, CO, Corey (Erica) of Tucson, AZ and Jack of Columbus, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Lineberry.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Thursday March 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm followed by refreshments in the Madera Room at La Posada, 501 S. La Posada Circle, Green Valley, AZ 85614.
