In Loving Memory of Edward Martin Scott

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Martin Scott, a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, on December 23, 2024 at the age of 74 after a valiant battle against cancer. His life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

Born on May 7, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY, Ed lived a life filled with purpose, joy, and a unique sense of humor that brightened every room he entered. He grew up in Staten Island, NY and then attended Regis University in Colorado as a young man. After graduation from college, he began his career at AT&T, where he demonstrated a remarkable work ethic and knack for innovation. Later, he joined Scientific Atlanta, where his passion for technology and problem-solving shone brightly. Throughout his career, he was admired not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his ability to connect with others on a deeply personal level.

Above all else, Ed cherished his family. As a father and grandfather, he provided unwavering support, guidance, and boundless love. His wit, humorous tales, and his wise counsel were a source of joy and comfort to everyone who knew him. He had an extraordinary ability to make people feel seen, valued, and uplifted, no matter the circumstances.

To his nieces and nephew, Ed was more than an uncle—he was a mentor, confidant, and the source of countless cherished memories. Whether it was a family gathering, a holiday celebration, or just an ordinary day, Ed made it extraordinary with his warmth and humor.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Boynton-Scott, his beloved children Phillip Boynton, Casey Boynton and Timothy Scott, as well as his wonderful grandchildren Hatcher Boynton and Olivia Scott.  He also leaves behind Susan Brigante (Scott), Gary Wendell, Frances Scott, Christine Farrell, Noreen Garcia, and Mark Brigante and their families.  Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edward Walter Scott, his mother, Anne Scott (Kelly), his daughter Kelly Boynton,  his sisters Ellen Scott and Marianne Borsare (Scott), and his nephew Scott Brigante.

His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in the countless beautiful memories he leaves behind. Ed taught us to cherish family and approach life with an open heart. He will be deeply missed but, never forgotten.
