Edgar "Ed" Truitt, beloved husband, stepfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 96. Born August 5, 1929, in Berkeley, California, to Bert Truitt and Agnes Kandulski, Ed lived a life marked by service, humility, and devotion to family and faith.

Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954 as a Field Wireman, earning the Korean Service Ribbon and Bronze Star Medal. Following his military service, he dedicated 32 years to the University of California, Berkeley, as a Planner, Estimator, and Inspector, overseeing campus development projects until his retirement in 1991.

A man of many passions, Ed earned his pilot's license in 1970 and spent countless hours exploring California from the skies. He and his wife, Jeanne Eloise Truitt—his devoted partner for 37 years—shared a love of travel, visiting Europe, Asia, and destinations across the United States. In 1994, they settled in Green Valley, Arizona, where Ed became an active member of Valley Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon, Elder, and on the Pastoral Care Committee for nearly two decades.

Ed is survived by five stepchildren—Patricia Ariadne of Escondido, CA, Debi Wilson- Bailey of Antelope, CA, Diana Bullock of Vallejo, CA, Kathy Bartlett of Gardnerville, NV, and James Wright of Bend, OR. He also leaves behind two nieces, Gaylene Erickson and Barbara Arnold of Fort Mohave, AZ, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Jeanne in 2020.

Ed will be remembered as a humble, gracious man whose faith guided his life and whose kindness touched hundreds. His legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
