My lovely wife Dorian (Giesbert) Knight, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep yesterday. Only in her 50's, She had been battling early onset Alzheimer's for the past 6 years. She taught us all patience, kindness, acceptance and appreciation of the simple everyday moments we have with others.  Dorian was a thoughtful woman with a bright smile and kind, generous heart, making friends wherever she went. Full of empathy, she always stopped to help a person or animal in need. She was an exceptional Special Education Teacher for over twenty years who gave such drive and passion to help her students excel in school and life and was very loved by her students. She Graduated Summa Kum Laude from ASU with a BA in Special Education.  She had a great love of nature and admired the beauty in art. She was an explorer at heart and marveled at the world around us and especially all the wonders in the sea. Dorian created numerous pieces of art such as stained glass, fused glass and jewelry. Through her life and illness Dorian showed us what it means to be trusting, kind, grateful for the small things; the warmth in a smile; the joy in petting a dog or cat, laughter at a silly moment. She brought our family closer together and taught us patience, dedication and appreciation and most of all to cherish one another as life holds the unexpected.

Dorian is preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Virginia Giesbert of California and is survived by her Husband, Steve, his family and her loving caregivers, friends and students who will always cherish her memory. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to La Posada Adult Day Services or The Animal League of Green Valley. A celebration of life will be held at La Posada community center Nov. 11th at 1:15pm
