Obituary

Deoloris, also known as Dee, was born January 2, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2018.

Dee was the first African-American woman to be sworn in as a police officer for the Minneapolis Police Department. She worked  as a police officer/public defender until her retirement. Then she and her husband, Jim, moved to Green Valley, Arizona to enjoy retirement life. She was a member of the American Legion Post 66 and Sahuarita Elks Lodge 2851. She enjoyed traveling and playing golf.

Dee is proceeded  in death by her husband Jim, son Keith, and daughter Tahrita. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Sullivan, grandchildren Jane, Rebecca, Kevin, Kyle, & Brandon Posten, Rico and Cameo McKinnies, and six great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her furry companions Baxter, Barney, and Bandit.
