David Lee Bland, 75, passed away on August 30, 2016 at TMC Hospice - Peppi's House. A Celebration of Life will be held at Green Valley Mortuary Chapel on September 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Bland was born to David and Margaret Bland on September 30, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He had three sisters, Linda Saunders, Paula Grimsley and Lisa Steele.

On April 30, 1966, David married Pauline Kirkley. Mr. Bland was a U.S. Marine from 1958 to 1964.  He was a Cuban Missile Crisis Vet.  They had three children, Shelly Hampton, David Bland and Crystal Engstrom. Mr. and Mrs. Bland made Arizona their permanent home in December 1982.

Mr. Bland was a Sheriff Deputy, worked 20 years with Conrail Railroad and retired as a Lieutenant from the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Mr. Bland had five grandchildren: Preston, Alexander, Sedona, Trevin and Delainey.

Mr. Bland was preceded in death by his parents, David and Margaret Bland.  He is survived by: his wife Pauline; his sister and brother-in-law Linda and John Saunders; his sister and brother-in-law Paula and Bill Grimsley; his sister Lisa Steele; his daughter and son-in-law Shelly and Jeff Hampton; his son and daughter-in-law David and Diane Bland; his daughter and son-in-law Crystal and Mike Engstrom; his daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Jim Hull; his grandchildren Preston, Alexander, Sedona, Trevin and Delainey.

Rather than mourn the death of Mr. Bland, he wanted his family and friends to celebrate his life.
