Clyde Joseph "Joe" Presley passed away on September 30th, 2017 in Green Valley, AZ after a brief illness. Joe was born on March 17, 1929 to Clyde A. Presley and Inez Smith Presley in Bixby Oklahoma. Joe graduated from high school in Julesburg, Co in 1946. He was selected to play on the Colorado All-Star State Football Team in 1946 representing the State All-Stars against the Metropolitan All-Stars in Denver. Joe spent three years in the army during the Korean Conflict . The G. I. Bill enabled him to go to the University of Tulsa, a fortunate choice of schools as that's where he met Shirley, his wife of 62 years. Joe and Shirley were married on June 1st, 1955 the day after Joe graduated from the University of Tulsa.

Joe started his career in business administration with Gulf Oil and also with Kewanee Oil, both based out of Tulsa, OK. Joe was transferred to Evansville, IN where their oldest daughter, Patty was born. From there the Presley's were transferred to Pampa, TX where their youngest daughter, Audrey was born. Fortunately, they were transferred back to Tulsa, OK where they were able to spend many years with family and friends before being transferred to Sydney Australia. It was in Sydney, that Joe and Shirley became serious about the game of golf...in part because they lived across the street from a golf course. After a brief stay in the Philadelphia area Joe was then transferred to Billings, MT where he headed the mining operation for Westmorland Resources. For 33 years the Presley's called Montana home before becoming Arizona snowbirds. The Presley's spent winters in Arizona and summers in Billings. They both felt this was the perfect scenario. Golf year round! Joe and Shirley eventually moved full-time to Green Valley, AZ. Joe and Shirley were members of Yellowstone Country Club in Billings and Desert Hills Golf Club in Green Valley.

Joe was a devoted husband to Shirley, a devoted father to his daughters, a devoted grandpa to his grandchildren, a devoted dog-dad to all his dogs and a devoted grandpaw to his grand-dogs. He will be remembered for his quick wit, wicked sense of humor and never-ending phrases (for example "don't tell me how the cows eat the cabbage" and "don't split hairs with me"). He never stopped encouraging his daughters and was always available as a sounding board and to offer his sound advice. He instilled the value of money and self reliance by teaching his daughters to calculate interest starting in 3rd grade if they wanted an advance on their allowance. This alone probably influenced their career choices.
