Carolyn Scott
August 22, 1934 – November 14, 2025
Carolyn Scott was born on August 22, 1934 to Isabel and William "Hem" Scott in Rochester Minnesota and passed away on November 14, 2025 at La Posada in Green Valley, Arizona.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Isabel and William Scott, brother Bill (Janet) Scott, Aunt Julie (Ken) Slemmons, Uncle Ives (Alice) Scott, Aunt Francis (Milja) Rubezanin, Aunt Alice (David) Mayo Berkman, and Aunt Gilberta Scott. She is survived by cousin Benjamin (Sally) Scott, nephews Steve (Janie) Scott and Mike (Laura) Scott, and cousins Rachel (Rob) Scott-Hovland and Mary (Joel) Nease, and many other friends and family.
Carolyn grew up in Rochester Minnesota, graduating from Rochester High School in 1952. Carolyn was an animal lover who took up riding horses at a young age, becoming a jockey in her late teens. A tumble cut short her competitive riding career, but she raised her beloved horses in the old Stone Barn on 16th Street SW in Rochester. Carolyn became a telephone operator with Northwestern Bell and worked with them in Rochester and Minneapolis. She took early retirement at 55 and moved to Green Valley, Arizona to enjoy the year-round warmth and sunshine with family and friends. Carolyn's favorite thing to do was to go antiquing with friends, hunting for just the right painting or end table to furnish her lovely home. She loved telling the stories of each treasure to all she welcomed into her home.
A memorial service will be held in the spring in Rochester Minnesota where she will be buried in the Scott family plot at Oakwood Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at La Posada and Catalina Hospice for the friendship and care provided during her last years. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to La Posada Foundation or Catalina Hospice and mailed to the addresses below.
