Caroline Kaye Saur (Kaye) of Green Valley, AZ passed away on August 1, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. Kaye was 82 years young.

Born July 29, 1941 in Truman, Minnesota, Kaye grew up in Grand Marias. She met Don Saur in 1959 and fell quickly and deeply in love. Kaye and Don were married February 6, 1960 in Grand Marais, Minnesota.

After living in Duluth, MN, Kaye and Don and their two young daughters drove to Alaska in the summer of 1963 where they made their home in Anchorage. Their son was born a month after the Great Alaska Earthquake of 1964.

Having put college on hold to marry and start a family, Kaye attended college at the University of Alaska, Anchorage and became a CPA in a partnership firm. Kaye and Don were involved in the building of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Anchorage and hosting potential pastors in their home.

Kaye and Don loved to spend time on their boats in Washington State and Alaska's Prince William Sound, taking cruises on rivers and oceans, and time share vacations in many countries. Kaye and Don would travel in their motorhomes extensively, including Saur Acres in Two Harbors, MN. Reuniting with family and friends.

In 1997, Kaye and Don had a home built in Green Valley, AZ where they would spend winters, make many new friends and taking up the game of golf where Kaye would get a hole-in-one. She was a fierce supporter of the University of Arizona Wildcats basketball teams.

Although having arthritic hands, Kaye would knit, mostly blankets and hats for Operation Deep Freeze, Salvation Army. She was an avid supporter of food banks and especially first responders.

Knowing and loving Kaye was a privilege. She will be greatly missed by many, including her beloved husband, Donald O. Saur, their three children, Deborah Neil (James), Brenda Sherman (Jeff), and Todd Saur (Raylene). Her six grandchildren were her treasurers and Scott Mahar, Rebecca Mahar, Kaylin Saur, Allison Saur, Henry Sherman, and Rachel Sherman will miss their grandmother.
