Carol Otto (née Shine), age 77, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Green Valley, Arizona, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born on March 7, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, Carol was the daughter of Donald Shine and Helen Shine (née Fesenfeldt). Carol lived a life full of love, laughter, and treasured moments with family and friends.

She was married to her devoted husband, David Otto, for nearly 57 years. Together, they built a warm and joyful home centered around family. Carol took pride in being a homemaker, delighting in cooking and baking — especially during the holidays, when her loved ones gathered to celebrate.

A naturally social person, Carol had a genuine interest in others and enjoyed learning about their lives. Her warmth and curiosity made her a beloved presence among friends and acquaintances alike.

Carol also had a passion for travel. Among her most treasured journeys was a trip to Ireland with her mother and sister — a shared adventure that created lasting bonds — and explorations across the United States with her husband David. These travels brought her joy and enriched her appreciation for different places and people.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, David Otto; her daughter, Christina Otto; her son, Gregory Otto; and her sister, Donna Spies (née Shine). She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Shine and Helen Shine (née Fesenfeldt).

Carol's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with kindness, hospitality, and love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
