Carol Lee
Copeland (Née Knight)
May 30, 1935 — Feb 5, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Carol Lee Copeland of Green Valley, Arizona, on Monday, February 5th, at the age of eighty-eight. Preceded by her parents Catherine and Jess Knight of Eagle, Alaska and her brother William Knight of Kansas City, Missouri.
Carol will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-two years, Bill Copeland, sons Marco and Dwight, beloved grandchildren Melissa, Julie, James, and Liam, nephews David and Kenny Knight, and a far-flung network of relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by the community at La Posada.
Carol grew up in Eagle, Alaska, and attended a one-room schoolhouse. After moving to Kansas City, MO she attended Paseo High School and went on to earn her Humanities Degree from Missouri Valley College.
She became a wife and mother but always remained an adventurer. Carol drove the Alaska Highway with a carload of kids and dogs, paddled Minnesota's Boundary Waters, floated the Yukon, and hiked many trails.
Carol was an avid volunteer at the Tubac Center of the Arts along with her husband Bill, managing the gift shop and greeting visitors. She never knew a stranger. Her friendships encompassed the Scouting community, sorority sisters, book clubs and many more.
Memorial Donations may be made in Carol's name to Tubac Center of the Arts, 9 Plaza Road, Tubac, AZ 85646. www.tubacarts.org
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Emblem Hospice, Green Valley for their amazing care and compassion.
