Obituary

Beverly Cantu went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2023 in her home in Sahuarita, Arizona.  Beverly was born on January 10, 1936 in St. Joseph County, Indiana, to her parents, Charles and Dorothy (Sears) Wheeler.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack, and an infant brother and sister.

On May 11, 1952 she married Raymond Edward Quick in Mishawaka, Indiana.   They welcomed daughter, Judith born in January, 1953.  In 1958 they welcomed a foster daughter, Sandra Clark, into the family.  Beverly was an accomplished housewife who made sure her family had everything they needed, often going without herself.  She was active in the PTA, a fantastic cook, baker of delicious desserts, and a seamstress who made most of her daughters' clothing as well as communion dresses for her many nieces.  In 1969 the family moved to Anaheim, California.  After playing the accordion as a young child, she took lessons and learned to play the organ. As her daughters became older, she became a forklift driver for the Mead Corporation in Garden Grove, California.  In May, 1989, she and Raymond professed their personal relationship with Jesus and were baptized.  Raymond passed away in October, 1989.

On April 23, 1994 Beverly married George Richard Cantu in Las Vegas, Nevada and then resided in Anaheim, California.  After moving to Oceanside, California for a few years, they relocated to Sahuarita, Arizona where they became active in the Green Valley Evangelical Free Church.  Beverly, who had an incredibly beautiful voice, enjoyed her rehearsals and weekly services singing praises to her Lord.

Beverly leaves behind her husband George and daughters Judith (Mel) Nowlin, and Sandra (Rick) Noonan, stepsons Roger and Russell Cantu, grandchildren, Matthew (Pam), and Nathaniel, and great grandchildren Emma, Myles, Trinity and Laina.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 1pm, at her daughter's (Judith) home in Highland, California.  Interment will be in Westminster Memorial Park and Mortuary in Westminster, California.
