Betty Klopfenstein, 86 of Green Valley, AZ and Shabbona, IL passed away on January 5th, 2024.  Betty was born on June 28th, 1937 in Byron, OH to Harry and Dorothy (Newcomer) Sinn with an older brother Eugene.

Betty  graduated from Bryon OH High School in 1955, and from Browns Laboratory School in 1956.  In December 1956 she married Tom Klopfenstein.  She worked in a state medical laboratory in Columbus, OH until 1959 when they moved to West Unity, OH where she worked in the office at 55+ corporation.  In 1965, they moved to Waterman, IL  when she was pregnant with her first child, Steve and later followed a daughter, Sheri.  She was a stay at home mom for a few years, then for many years worked part time at the HoHa Turkey Farm with her husband Tom.  After her retirement in the mid 90's, Betty was very active with various crafts, the last one greeting card making.  She was also very active with her three grandchildren.

Her friends thought of her as someone with a vibrant personality and a zest for life.  She also enjoyed having fun with friends and playing pranks with neighbors.

Betty is survived by her husband Tom, son Steve (Sue) Klopfenstein of IL, daughter Sheri Cantrell of NC, Grandchildren Ashley (Dan) Novak of KY, Thomas Klopfenstein of NC, Briana Lindhart of NC.  Also four Grandchildren; Lily Klopfenstein, Alex Novak, Hanna Novak, & Declan Novak.  She has 4 nieces in the Bryan OH area and 5 nieces and nephews from Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Sinn and a brother Eugene Sinn and a brother-in-law Terry Klopfenstein from Lincoln, NE

A celebration of life will be held in Green Valley Arizona soon followed by a memorial service in Illinois in the spring.
