Obituary

Bernard Harold Grindlinger, 92 of Green Valley, AZ passed away on May 28, 2020 at La Casa de Stella in Tucson, AZ.

Bernie was born December 8, 1927 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn NY to Samuel and Helen Grindlinger. He graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1945 then enlisted in the US Navy serving during the US Occupation of Japan under General Douglas MacArthur in WW2.  He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Drexel University, where he met his first wife Shirley Koitz.

Bernie loved Tennis and was an avid player well into his mid 80's. In the 1960's, Bernie was a successful stockbroker and transitioned into the insurance industry in the 1970's. He loved working until he was unable to. He died peacefully of complications from Alzheimer's.

Bernard is survived by his loving wife Valena ( Lee ) Grindlinger of Green Valley, Arizona; beloved son Ethan Grindlinger of Philadelphia, PA; beloved Daughter, Helen (Honey ) Levin, and son in-law Martin Melecio of Media, PA; beloved daughter in-law Randy Maslow Grindlinger, of Penn Valley, PA; and adored grandchildren Robert, Fallon and Darius. His parents, and sister Florence McCartney, Shirley and, his son Dr. Jonathan Grindlinger, predeceased him.
