Obituary

Dina (Berdina) Brown 1934- 2017

Dina Brown, 82, went to her heavenly home on January 25, 2017.

Dina was born June 18, 1934 on a farm in Ida County, Iowa to Vernon and Blanche Andresen. She attended county schools and graduated from Galva High School in 1952. In high school, she excelled at playing six person basketball and played in the Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament. After living in California and Texas, she returned to the Midwest and moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Once in Omaha, she was reacquainted with Rodnee Brown, who also attended Galva High School. They were married on May 26, 1956. They had three children, two sons and a daughter. Dina was actively involved in the Cub Scouts organization both during and after her sons were scouts and was the recipient of several awards for her efforts.

Dina was a devoted mother and valued her family above all else. She will be remembered for her endless love, her unconditional kindness, her sassy sense of humor, and her incredible cooking and baking skills. Dina and Rod travelled extensively across the US. They enjoyed cruising the world. She was a "people person" who never met a stranger. She had a fun- loving personality and was loved by many relatives and friends.

She lived in Omaha until 1999 when Rod and Dina moved to Green Valley, Arizona. After several years in the Canoa Estates II sub-division they moved to La Posada in 2012.

Dina is survived by: her husband Rod; their three children and their spouses, Steven (Corinne), Larry (Claire), and Lori (Darren Hansen); her brothers Leroy and Harlan; and her six grandchildren, Caitlin Polley, Seth Brown, Sandy Brown, Lindsay Brown, Grace Brown, and Rebecca Hansen.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior. Donations to the memory of Dina Brown should be addressed to:
