Barbara Delphia Garcia,83, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from sudden cardiac arrest after many years of advancing dementia.

Barbara was born on April 27, 1941, in Sophia, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Joe Thomas Hughes and Helen Mae Browskey. Barbara graduated from Fairmont High School, WV and received a Practical Nurse certificate from the Post Graduate School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. She served three years in the United States Army, towards the end of the Vietnam War, where she met Nestor Garcia; they were married 13 years.

She is survived by her ex-husband Nestor of Lima, Peru; her son John N. Garcia (Averell Garcia) of Sahuarita, AZ, and daughters Cynthia K. Navarro (Jesse) & Yvonne J. Sager (David) of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren Jesse J. Garcia (Mary), Jordan D. Chandler, Kayla N. Garcia, Orlando J. and Dylan D. Navarro, and Jonathan D. Sager; and her two sisters Sharon and Helen and one brother Howard.

Committal services with honors for Barbara will be noon October 17, 2024 at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Marana, 15950 North Luckett Road, Marana, AZ with Rev. Robert Cosby officiating.
