Albert Alexander Pavlikowski, (89), passed away on Tuesday, April 09, 2024, at the Villas in Green Valley, AZ.  Albert was born on June 3, 1934, in Tower Hill II, Pennsylvania, son of Casmire and Anna Pavlikowski.

Al graduated Redstone Township High School, Pennsylvania in 1952, where he excelled in football.  Al graduated with a liberal Arts Degree from Wabash College, in Crawfordsville, Indiana in 1956, on a four-year football scholarship, where he lettered all four years, playing football.  Following college, Al served his country in the US army for two years at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Al met the love of his life in the spring of 1956, Mary Jane Woodford.  Al and Mary Jane were married on June 28, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved back to Colorado to finish his service in the Army.  Upon completion of service, they moved to accept a position with Combustion Engineering in Indiana.  Several years later, Al accepted a job with Marathon Electric, manufacturing fractional horsepower electric motors, and a subsequent move to Earlville, Illinois.  Albert accepted a promotion to run Marathon's International Division, Mar-Mex, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and moved the family to Rio Rico, Arizona in November of 1974. Upon moving to Arizona, Al was involved with the council of American businesses that had opened operations from the United States, in conjunction with local Mexican Government, "the Maquila Association."  Al was also president for several terms of the Maquila Association, promoting a cooperative environment between the Mexican Government, its labor force and the interests of the American companies.  Al retired from Mar-Mex. After retirement, Al received an offer from SL Waber (electronics), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, to run one of their international divisions in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.  Al continued as vice president with SL Waber for several more years until he finally decided upon re-retiring.

During his time in Earlville, Al was active with the Earlville Lions Club and served a term as president of the local chapter.  He was also involved with his children's athletics through the years.  Al enjoyed family reunions whether in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Virginia or Arizona.

Al loved to fish.  Yearly trips with the family to northern Wisconsin would find him with a pole in the water trolling for pike, shore casting for bass or parked over crappie beds.  Deep-sea fishing was also part of his fishing adventures; fishing the waters off western central Mexico, Hawaii and Florida. Al also fished the shores of many stream banks and lakes while on vacation.  He enjoyed fishing with his younger brother, Gene, in the rivers and lakes of Pennsylvania. Lake Powell, in Arizona and Utah was also a favorite spot for house boating, family time and "wetting a line."

Another passion Al had was the landscaping, modification and transformation of his home in Rio Rico, Arizona. Countless hours over the years of sand, gravel, rock, block, cement and plant life turned the property into a low maintenance spectacle for the eyes.  Al's rose garden was another passion he had; maintaining bouquets throughout the summer months, that always brought smiles of delight from his wife.

Al was significantly involved with the growing of the church in Rio Rico through organization and funding.  Initially, mass was celebrated in a building adjacent to the horse stables, and has now become the vision that was had, those many years ago.  Al and Jane also became Knight and Dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, a merit awarded by the pope for personal service to the church.  They continued to support the Order for several years, until retiring from active duty.

Al and his wife loved to travel. Most favorite destination was Hawaii. Additional destinations included Acapulco, Alaska, Aruba, Jerusalem, Northern California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Al was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years; Mary Jane, his siblings Katherine Savini, Joseph Pavlikowski, William Pavlikowski, daughter-in-law Mary Arlene Pavlikowski and grandson Christopher Pavlikowski.

Al is survived by siblings Gene Pavlikowski (Patty) and Victoria Rocheck (Ed); his children; Mark Allan Pavlikowski (Sally), Bruce Gram Pavlikowski, Mary Sue Biddle (Phillip), Michael Scott Pavlikowski (Veronica). Grandchildren Jerame Dooly (Emily), Matt Pavlikowski, Naomi Pavlikowski, Jeff Pavlikowski (Claire), Mary Caitlin Leslie (Tom), Jen Godonis (Ryan), Izhar and Yvonna; great-grandchildren Anna Laine, Caroline and Anthony Pavlikowski, Lucille Dooly and many nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be said at 09:30 am, Thursday, April 25, 2024at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Green Valley followed by the funeral mass.
